FileZilla Server, along with FileZilla Client, is a completely free File Transfer Protocol (FTP) application that will solve all of your file transfer needs. Have you ever thought of transferring data between two different devices that are far away and not connected by anything except the internet? How about multiple devices?
Well, FileZilla Server saves the day for you. Just like a normal client and server relationship, FileZilla Server turns your computer into a server that can be accessed by any device (with the right credentials, of course) using an FTP client. It really is as simple as it sounds.
Use cases
If you wish to share photos, videos, music, or any other form of data with your friends, your colleagues, or anyone you wish, then FileZilla Server can help make your device a server from which anybody can download and save data. The client allows you to connect to a device that has FileZilla Server installed. Any file placed on the server can be downloaded using the client.
You can also use FileZilla Server to back up your content since it can work as a simple server. Users can take advantage of this setup and access it anywhere on the go when the server is up and active.Security and logs
Talking about security and accessibility, FileZilla Server can be accessed by any computer that has an FTP client installed on it. Security is also a major aspect of the server as it offers you many configuration options, such as enforcing a minimum TLS version of v1.2 and using TLS certificates.
You can check the logging options to ensure file integrity and see what changes were made to any files or which files were downloaded. Other options include login timeout, activity timeout, automatically banning IP addresses after a set number of failed attempts, and many more.A reliable hub for your remote files
Summing it all up, if you are looking for a great way to transfer files between devices over the internet, access files on the go from your home PC, or share files with your colleagues and friends, then FileZilla Server and Client are a fantastic set of applications to help you.
